Spesific course information
Brief description : This course contains the definition and properties of fluids, hydrostatics, the balance of floating objects, the relative balance, fluid kinematics, momentum equation, the flow of water through the pipes and steadily through the pipe system
Prerequisite Courses :
  1.  Calculus I (Semester I)
  2. Physics (Semester I)

Laboratory work : Bourdon manometer, hydrostatic pressure, Reynolds aparatus, venturimeter, energy loss of flow in pipe, momentum
Spesific goals of the course
Spesific outcomes : The students are expected to be able to understand (i) fluid properties and hydrostatics, (ii) principle of stability of floating bodies and relative movement, also (iii) momentum and basic flow of fluid through pipe
Student outcomes :
  1. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering in civil engineering fields
  2. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to have data analysis and interpretation
