Brief description  :

This course contains the definition and scope of water resouces management; basic principle, institution and introduction to the regulations in water resources management, water supply system, types and methods of water requirement prediction (irrigation and non-irrigation), data requirements for water resources management, determination of reservoir storage capacity, reservoir release configuration method, water allocation optimization model, flood control in macro and micro scale, environmental aspects in water resources management

Specific outcomes :

The students are expected to understand the basic principles of the development and management of water resources concerning the hydrological, hydraulic, fulfillment patterns, relevant institution and regulation aspects, also the formulation of development strategi of the utilization of water resources.

Student outcomes :

(a) An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering in civil engineering fields

(c) An ability to design a system, component, or process in order to be able to face the real constraints in economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability

(e) An ability to identify, formulate, and solve civil engineering problems by considering local resources
