Spesific course information
Brief description : This course contains physical properties, mechanical, and chemical, a variety of materials used for building civil engineering derived from organic materials (wood), inorganic materials (bitumen, polymer, glass, metal, ceramics, lime), and materials which is used to make concrete (water, Portland cement, sand, gravel, and materials added)

The design and manufacture of mortar and concrete covering normal dosing, mixing, transporting, casting, compaction, and maintenance of concrete. Evaluation of concrete quality concrete on the implementation of the project.

Prerequisite Courses : Chemistry for Civil Engineering (Semester I)

Laboratory work :

Students conduct several tests of physical and mechanical properties of building materials (wood, steel).

Students able to conduct test for sand and gravel, design of concrete mix, concrete mixing, testing of fresh concrete and curred concrete.

Spesific goals of the course
Spesific outcomes : The students are expected to learn the physical properties, mechanical, and chemical, building materials used for civil engineering. Students can learn and understand how to manufacture concrete.
Student outcomes :
  1. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering in civil engineering fields
  2. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to have data analysis and interpretation
  3. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve civil engineering problems by considering local resources
