Visit of Keio University Students, Japan

Keio University is one of the best unversities in Japan, listed at 197 in the QS Worl University Ranking and is the oldest university in Japan which was founded in 1858 (https://www.st.keio.ac.jp/en/about/history.html).

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, FT UGM, received a visit from 7 Keio University students on Friday, September 9, 2022 in the context of studying Disaster Risk Management. Keio University students were welcomed by the Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DTSL), Prof. Ir. Teuku Faisal Fathani, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng. and Prof.Ir. Djoko Legono, Ph.D., accompanied by Neil Andika, ST., M.Sc., Ph.D. and Avantio Pramaditya, ST., ME. in the FT UGM DTSL Meeting Room, 2nd Floor. Previously, the group visited Sabo Dam Nglumut and the Sabo Engineering Center.

In this activity, a group of Keio University students discussed natural disasters that occurred in Indonesia and how to handle them. Information is also provided on the views of researchers regarding the current state of natural disaster management in Indonesia. The event ended with visits to several DTSL laboratories to show the ongoing research process at DTSL
