UGM Centre for Occupational Security, Safety, Health, and Environment (PK4L) has once again established cooperation with Sleman Transportation Agency related to socialisation of traffic safety.

As many as 60 people participate in the event, coming from PK4L, Gama Medical Center, Academic Hospital, faculties, etc.

Head of PK4L, Arif Nurcahyo, S.Psi., M.A., said traffic was one of important aspects of life. Disruption in this case will disrupt others, too.

“At least, economic distribution will be affected, education and goods distribution, too,” he said  in Auditorium of Faculty of Forestry UGM on Wednesday (25/7).

He said the socialisation was to refresh the road users of traffic compliance. It has to be acknowledged that some people still violate traffic regulations.

Head of Transportation of the Sleman Transportation Agency, Marjanto, S.SiT., M.T., said the socialisation was to remind road users to always follow order. He said traffic was heavy presently in Sleman. He reminded the participants that UGM has a vital role because the traffic at UGM will highly affect the traffic in Sleman.

“I am pleased that this event will refresh our knowledge about traffic. And this is the third cooperation after last time we collaborated in vehicle emission test,” he said.

Event participants were given materials on traffic order and safe helmet, traffic law, driving license, and simulation of accident handling.
